PLAINVILLE - The Balloon Festival will rise again after a three year hiatus.
The annual festival, which is held at Norton Park, was canceled during the past three years due to the covid-19 pandemic. It will return this year on the evening of Friday, Aug. 25 and it will continue all day Saturday, Aug. 26.
Highlights of the festival include a "balloon glow," a fireworks display and two balloon launches. There will also be a car show, an arts and crafts show, musical entertainment, food and several vendors.
Town Council Chair Kathy Pugliese said she is excited the festival is back.
