State has just 115 new virus cases over weekend, hospitalizations down to 50; plus area case updates

There were just 115 new coronavirus cases statewide and 21 less residents hospitalized with the virus reported over the weekend, according to state health officials. There were two virus-associated deaths to increase that overall total to 8,263. None were from the area.

New Britain has had 215 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 136, Newington 100, Southington 97, Plainville 38, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 11 since reporting began.

There were 32,498 coronavirus tests reported over the weekend with 115 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 0.35%. There was a decrease of 21 residents hospitalized with coronavirus for an overall total of 50. There are 23 covid patients currently in Hartford County hospitals, nine less than Friday. Fairfield County has 13, which is second most behind Hartford County.

New Britain had one coronavirus case reported over the weekend and has an overall total of 9,685.

Bristol had an increase of two in coronavirus cases since Friday and has an overall total of 6,014.

Southington had zero new virus cases over the weekend and has 3,711 cases overall.

Newington had two new virus cases reported since Friday and has an overall total of 2,715.

Berlin had two new virus cases over the weekend and has an overall total of 1,584.

Plainville had no change in virus cases since Wednesday and has an overall total of 1,594.

Plymouth had no new virus case over the weekend and has an overall total of 958.
