TERRYVILLE - The Terryville boys basketball team is rolling.

Sean O’Donnell scored a game-high 24 points, while Dyan Matulis added 15 points himself as the Kangaroos beat Wamogo 53-37 on Wednesday to pick up their fourth straight win.

The Warriors, meanwhile, didn’t have a single scorer reach double-figures. Charlie Coffey was their leading scorere with 8 points.

“We played great team defense tonight,” Terryville head coach Mark Fowler said. “We didn’t give them many good looks with our effort and positioning. We are starting to find our stride as we head for the homestretch.”

The Kangaroos (5-2) came out strong, scoring 19 points in the opening quarter, including eight from O’Donnell in the opening minutes, and never looked back.

Overall, Terryville hit seven 3-points: four from O’Donnell, who notched his third consecutive 20-point performance; two from Dominick Dao; and one from Matulis.

Terryville 54, Wamogo 36: The Kangaroos have their first win of the season.

Zoe Zappne finished with a game-high 17 points to go along with eight steals and Taylor Barnett had 14 points to lead Terryville offensively. Tiffany Pires finished one point shy of a double-double after recording nine points and 10 rebounds.

“We played hard and worked together to get a great team win,” Kangaroos head coach Breeann Redman said.

St. Paul 54, Naugatuck 27: The Falcons proved the Greyhounds could not score with them Wednesday as sophomore Nadie Riemer's 17 points carried her team to its third win of the season.

A 10-2 run over the length of the third quarter built their lead high enough to stop a late push from the Beavers. Goodwin Tech gets right back to work Thursday with a road game against Vinal Tech at 4 p.m.

Plainville 83, Lewis Mills 78: The Blue Devils picked up their first win of the season and posted 35 best times in the process.
