TERRYVILLE - The Terryville boys basketball team will not be competing in the state tournament.

The Kangaroos missed their chance at qualifying for the Division V state tournament by one game as they fell to Northwestern 69-45 Friday night.

Both teams came out strong in the first quarter, but once the second quarter began, the Highlanders took over and Terryville (7-13) was never able to recover.

After the third quarter played out much of the same way as the second, the Kangaroos attempted to rally in the fourth, it was just too big of a deficit to overcome.

Evan Dorso led Terryville with 11 points while Shawn Iwanow added nine and Colon Bamrick scored six.
