Nonnewaug comes from behind to beat Terryville boys basketball

TERRYVILLE - The Terryville boys basketball team, searching for key victories in its quest for a state tournament berth, came up short on Friday night as visiting Nonnewaug came from behind to earn a 51-42 victory.

Jacob Firlings scored a game-high 17 points for Nonnewaug (4-10), with the Chiefs shooting 18-for-22 from the free throw line in the game to keep ahead of the Kangaroos.

Shawn Iwanow led Terryville (5-9) with 11 points, while Evan Dorso added nine, Mike Tiscia and Colin Bamrick each had eight and Adam Pelz netted four.
