Sports Roundup: Bristol Eastern girls volleyball keeps rolling in sweep of Glastonbury

BRISTOL - Facing a strong Glastonbury team, Bristol Eastern got its second straight shutout victory, winning the three sets 25-17, 25-16 and 25-23.

Sienna White (6 kills), Olivia Beaudoin (8 kills) and Paige McLaughlin (14 digs) led the way for Bristol Eastern.

With the win, the Lancers move to 11-5 on the season.

Tomorrow the Lancers will play the Rams across town in the final match of the regular season for both teams.

Terryville 3, Wolcott Tech 0: The Kangaroos continued their strong play of late with their fourth straight victory and third consecutive shutout, 25-12, 25-10, 25-16.

Terryville received four outstanding performances in the match from McKenzie Huria (6 kills, 8 digs, 3 aces, 2 assists), Hailey Marin (6 kills, 7 aces, 13 assists), Kristine Gutierrez (4 kills, 10 digs,  1 block, 2 aces) and Alyssa Prozzo (3 kills, 7 digs, 2 aces, 2 assists) 

With the win, the Kangaroos move to 9-4 on the season and will travel to face Kaynor Tech today.

Northwest Catholic 3, St. Paul 2: The Falcons started strong winning the first two sets before letting the Lions back into the match and eventually fell to Northwest Catholic in five sets.

St. Paul was led by Julianna Iacovelli (12 kills, 1 ace) and Melissa Lopez (10 kills) in the match.

With the loss, the Falcons drop to 7-11 on the season and have one more regular season match against Lewis Mills next Wednesday.

Torrington 3, Bristol Central 1: After tallying four consecutive victories, the Rams couldn’t continue the run against the 16-2 Red Raiders.

Bristol Central took the first set 25-19 before conceding the next three sets 31-33, 15-25 and 22-25.

Kathryn Ross (11 kills, 4 blocks), Brianna Saverino (10 kills), Xia’ian Carrasco (9 kills, 2 blocks) and Amanda Warner (23 digs) led the way for the Rams.

Bristol Central will host Bristol Eastern tomorrow.
