Sports Roundup: Bristol Central boys soccer can't generate any offense in loss to Berlin

BERLIN - Coming into Thursday’s match, Bristol Central boys soccer coach Nate Jandreau wanted shut down Berlin’s star player Noah Silverman.

While the Rams were able to hold the All-New Englander scoreless, they weren’t able to find any offense to compliment their defensive effort and fell to the Redcoats 2-0.

Bristol Central only managed two shots to Berlin’s 20, with neither shot being on goal.

Ryan Jenkins and Curtis Arcari both scored for the Redcoats, one of which came on an assist from Silverman.

The Rams will host Platt on Monday.


Lewis Mills 7, Terryville 0: It was a rough afternoon for the Kangaroos in a game that get out of hand quickly.

Out of the Spartans seven goals, five were scored by different players. Jazzy Sztyler-Magee netted two for Lewis Mills.

The one bright spot for Terryville was goalkeeper Maria Cesare. Despite allowing seven goals, she saved 16 shots.


Newington 3, Bristol Central 2: In a tightly contested match, Bristol Central fell just short and had its three-game win streak snapped against the Indians. Both Xia’ian Carrasco (seven kills) and Brianna Saverino (10 kills, 24 digs) did their best to keep the Rams in it. Bristol Central will host Platt tonight.
