ROUNDUP: Bristol Eastern boys soccer unable to capitalize on second-half opportunities in loss to Tolland

TOLLAND - The Bristol Eastern boys soccer team fell behind early and was unable to catch up in a 2-0 loss at Tolland on Thursday afternoon.

Ryan Siriois scored in the first half for Tolland, while Hunter Williams added a second-half tally.

“We fell behind early and were unable to capitalize on our opportunities, especially in the second half,” Lancers coach Bill Sweet said.

Goalkeeper Tom Tefoe made eight saves for Bristol Eastern (2-4), while Aidan Delaney stopped six shots for Tolland (5-2).


E.O. Smith 2, Bristol Central 1: Adalia Malick tied it up for the Rams off a through ball from Ashley Macdonald in the 42nd minute, but it wasn’t enough as E.O. Smith scored a second goal not long after. Despite the opposition’s two goals, Bristol Eastern goalkeeper Aubrey Kelley had a solid game.


Terryville 15, Wolcott Tech 49: Kangaroos hopped across the finish line in the first six places as the host team won at Terryville’s 5K course, improving to 6-0 for the season.

Leading the pack were Corey Picard (17:20), Chris Deforest (17:28), Colby Brown (18:28), Conor Garrity (19:23), Nick Zappone (20:51) and Travis Bellemare (21:00). C.J. Hart placed eighth in 21:02 and Jacob Collette crossed the line in 21:16.

Other notable finishers for Terryville included Evan Dorso (11th, 21:35), Justin Ethier (12th, 21:49), Mike Tiscia (14th, 22:01), Zack Hamzy (15th, 23:29), Noah McCoy (17th, 24:51), Nick Piccirillo (19th, 27:58), Aaron Schein (20th, 28:45), Jayden Machowski (22nd, 32:04) and Ryan Cook (23rd, 33:26).


Terryville 15, Wolcott Tech 50: The Kangaroos improved to 2-4, taking six of the first seven places in a meet in which Wolcott Tech only had three runners.

For Terryville, Jordan Conklin placed first (25:21), Sarah Evanoski was third (26:07), Katelyn Craighill was fourth (27:44), Devin Girch was fifth (29:29), Bella Christiana was sixth (29:55) and Savannah Wallingford was seventh (30:13).
