ROUNDUP: St. Paul's Davis places fourth in high jump at Class S outdoor track and field championships

NEW BRITAIN - St. Paul’s Addison Davis was the top finisher among area athletes competing in the Class S state track and field championships held at Willow Brook Park on Thursday.

She finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of five feet even.

Davis also finished tied for 12th in the triple jump 31-3ÂĽ and 17th in the 300 hurdles (52.11).

Mary Stefano was the top finisher for Terryville, placing 11th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.63.

A pair of Kangaroos finished one after the other in the 3,200 meters, as Corey Picard placed 12th in 10:10.71 and Chris Deforest was 13th in 10:15.67.


CCC Golf Tournament: Bristol’s schools did not have a good day in the league meet at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain (par 71), with both among the bottom five of 25 teams to post a score in the event.

Avon won the title with a score of 309, with Bristol Central placing 21st at 376 and Bristol Eastern coming in 24th with a score of 425.

The Rams’ Cameron Reed had a round of 87, the best among city golfers. Also scoring for Bristol Central were Ryan Suiter (90), Jacob Nelson (95) and Preston Akerley (104).

Scoring for Bristol Eastern were Jake Rodjenski (102), C.J. Bleau (103), Brendan McMahon (104) and Kelsea Wyrebek (116).
