PLYMOUTH – BOLD Media is bringing back their popular “Hollowed Harvest” attraction, which features thousands of intricately carved Jack-O’-Lanterns arranged in creative displays, to Camp Mattatuck starting Sept. 23.

This is the third year that BOLD Media will be offering its "Hollowed Harvest" chain of Jack-O'-Lantern festivals with locations ranging from Salem, MA, to Richmond, VA, to, locally, Camp Mattatuck at 221 Mt. Tobe Rd.

Some displays are as high as two stories tall and are comprised of more than 7,000 Jack-O'Lanterns. The walk-thru attraction takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes and includes a sea serpent, a pirate ship and more.

Daniel Smith, graphics and marketing with BOLD Media, said that Hollowed Harvest was very well received in past years.

"All of our locations have done very well, seeing good turnout," he said. "We're looking to keep the ball rolling."

Some of the new features this year that visitors can look forward to include a Jack-O'-Lantern tunnel, hand-carved organic pumpkins and a season pass for those who want to see the seasonal attraction more than once.

Matthew Glaser, CEO of Bold Media, said that Hollowed Harvest is fast becoming a Halloween tradition for families throughout the greater Hartford area. He expects that its third year will be the best yet.

“So much of Halloween is geared towards young adults with scary attractions," he said. "Hollowed Harvest is a rare, safe haven that focuses more on the fun of Halloween and the beauty of the Jack-O’-Lanterns as an art form, while avoiding the horror aspect." he said. "In short - this is perfectly suited for the young, and the young at heart."

General admission tickets are currently on sale and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the event. Time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis.

A 20% off discount is being offered through Sept. 22.
