PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Bristol Health are offering the community another chance to get vaccinated with a drive-thru clinic..

The clinic will be held Wednesday, July 28, with a follow-up Wednesday, Aug. 18, at PVAC headquarters. The clinic will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on both days. The Pfizer vaccine is being offered to anyone 12 or older. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bonnie Doughty-Jenkins, chair of the PVAC Board of Directors, said this is the third clinic which the ambulance corps and Bristol Health have offered together.

“We were very happy with the turnout at both the first and second vaccine clinics earlier this year,” she said. “Bristol Health’s staff is amazing and takes care of all of the paperwork for us. Everything has run like a well-oiled machine; they’ve got it down to a science. Our staff does everything else from directing traffic to loading, sterilizing and administering the vaccines. Everybody pitches in.”

Doughty-Jenkins said several PVAC members, members of the Board of Directors and their friends and family have volunteered their time to make these community clinics a success.

“We want to thank the public for their support of us throughout this endeavor,” Doughty-Jenkins said. “We have got a lot of positive support. There are a lot of members of the community who have been very thankful.”

Doughty-Jenkins said for this clinic, the PVAC and Bristol Health are hoping to reach more people who might not have been available during the previous clinics, which were held on Saturdays.

“The thought was that this time would be convenient for people to get the vaccine as they are leaving work or heading to the Concerts on the Green, which start at 6 p.m.,” she said.

While this is the last covid-19 vaccine clinic scheduled with the PVAC and Bristol Health, Doughty-Jenkins said the PVAC would be open to offering it again if there was a need or a desire for it.

PVAC headquarters is located at 191 Main St.
