PLYMOUTH – Created by a “treasure hunter” for treasure hunters, “The Treasure Chest,” opening Saturday on Main Street, has a huge variety of items including furniture, electronics, games, clothing, housewares and more.

The Treasure Chest, located at 211 Main St., is owned by Nicole Lubrico who said that opening the store was a lifelong dream. She classified it as a thrift store and consignment store with “pre-loved, up-cycled, new and used” items.

“I’m a “couponer” and a deal shark and I’m able to get a lot of items at good prices,” said Lubrico. “I had always wanted to open a store like this since I was a little kid. My grandmother, who passed away five years ago, always talked with me about opening a place like this and here we are.”

The following is written on The Treasure Chest’s Facebook page in tribute to Lubrico’s grandmother.

“This store brings me back to wonderful memories of my gram,” the page says under the ‘about’ section. “She had a house filled with so many ‘extras’ of everyday household items in case someone needed it. I am fulfilling her dream of opening up a store for the both of us.”

Lubrico began moving into the 5,000 square foot space about a month ago after taking over the space from the previous store owner. Since then, she began stocking it with a variety of items including clothing, books, dishware, dressers, kitchenware, board games, video games, movies, records, CDs, electronics, antiques, Christmas and Halloween items. In short, there are numerous shelves stacked high with plenty of hidden treasures to be found.

Lubrico said that two of The Treasure Chest’s most unique items include a telephone booth that doubles as a wine rack and a large, antique radio from the turn of the last century. The store also has an area dedicated to children’s items and an area dedicated to a wide selection of tools.

“I love treasure hunting myself,” said Lubrico. “We have a little bit of everything, so come down, have a look and see what you can find.”

As part of her grand opening on Saturday, Lubrico will be offering a 10% discount to those who spend $50 or more purchasing items at The Treasure Chest.
