OKAY Industries Inc. names new director of manufacturing

NEW BRITAIN - OKAY Industries Inc. has announced the promotion of a new director of manufacturing to oversee the daily manufacturing operations at the company’s facilities in New Britain and Berlin.

Steven Kmiec, of Coventry, is the new director of manufacturing and through his new role he will also support production activities for OKAY Industries’ facility in Costa Rica.

Kmiec, who was most recently a senior manufacturing engineer at OKAY Industries, has more than 30 years of multi-disciplined work experience in product application and development engineering through a variety of industries such as defense, aerospace, medical, automotive and consumer goods.

Kmiec is also skilled in CNC programming, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), lean operations, SolidWorks and value stream mapping.

With his skilled operations and engineering manager experience, as well as his works as a team builder, Kmiec will bring instrumental help and support to OKAY Industries’ strategic growth initiatives including technology and processes integration to support the company’s global customer base.

OKAY Industries is a contract manufacturer that specializes in engineering components and subassemblies for original equipment manufacturers in the medical device and industrial markets.

OKAY Industries uses a variety of machines with different capabilities such as stamping, machining, laser processing, and automatic and robotic assembly.
