BERLIN – Berlin girls basketball fell to East Hartford Friday night, losing 33-31 to move to 1-1 on the season.

Claire McGeever had 11 points, a team-high for Berlin, in an “outstanding defensive game.”

Kailee DeMai had nine points to go with 12 rebounds in the loss.

St. Paul 75, Kennedy 48: St. Paul rolled past Kennedy girls basketball Friday night, winning 75-48.

Nadia Reimer led in scoring for St. Paul, scoring 17 points with three 3-pointers. Haileigh Orzel had 16 points as the only other teammate in double-digit scoring.

Reimer also had six assists to go with her team-leading total. Zoey Rubbing and Izzy Leggett each had five assists while Alexis Tierpack had eight rebounds.

Kennedy was led by Niyah Brown, who converted from the free-throw line 12 times. Meryoh Caraballo had 15 points for Kennedy.
