WOLCOTT - The opening seconds of Monday afternoon’s game against Wolcott didn’t go as planned for the St. Paul girls soccer team, but the Falcons quickly erased that and picked up their sixth win of the season.
After surrendering a goal just 30 seconds into the first half, St. Paul rebounded behind a pair of goals from Reagan Davis to pick up a 2-1 victory.
“[We] managed to fight back playing with good intensity,” head coach Flavio Pereira said.
Elle Vaughn scored early on for Wolcott before the Falcons battled back, sending eight shots on goal with Davis’ pair of tallies sneaking through to secure the game and close out the regular season with the team’s second straight victory.
BOYS SOCCER
Newington 7, Platt 0: Newington was firing on all cylinders on Monday, getting goals from six different players in a dominant performance over the Panthers.
Christian Amaral put in two goals for Newington, while Reed Campbell had one of his own along with three assists.
Samuel Davies, Diogo Caetano, Duarte Cordeiro and Beckham Alderucci all found the back of the net as well for Newington.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Bristol Eastern 3, Lewis Mills 0: The Lancers continue to be a force that cannot be stopped, picking up another sweep (25-8, 26-24, 25-17) while remaining undefeated on the season.
Zoe Lowe had 15 kills and seven digs for Eastern, while Hannah Webber had 10 kills and six service aces. Leah Chipman dished out 33 assists, while Ryley Plourde picked up nine kills.
Bristol Eastern closes out its regular season slate at home on Thursday evening against New Britain.
