St. Paul girls basketball finishes regular season with 16th straight win

NAUGATUCK - The St. Paul girls basketball team finished its regular season Thursday night with its 16th consecutive win. The Falcons doubled Naugatuck’s score with a 64-32 win led by a 23-point, seven-rebound, five-assist, six-steal performance from Janessa Gonzalez.

Many St. Paul players filled up the stat sheet including Jade Udoh, who nearly posted a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists; Olivia Heslin firted with a double-double by scoring 10 points and grabbing seven rebounds.

The Falcons finished the season in first place of the NVL and second place in the Class L. Their next game will be the opening round of the NVL tournament Feb. 22.
