Sports Roundup: St. Paul boys soccer picks up first win of season behind Rembish hat trick

WATERBURY - The St. Paul boys soccer team picked up a 4-1 victory at Wilby on Tuesday, paced by a hat trick from Ethan Rembish.

Wilby came out aggressive in the game, but Rembish was able to find the back of the net before halftime.

St. Paul came out better in the second half and was able to connect passes and play better soccer. Rembish scored two more times for his first hat trick of the season.

Also, freshman Gabriel Paez scored a beautiful goal for his first of the season.

Bristol Eastern 5, Windsor 1: The Lancers got five goals from Jake Woznicki to cruise to a victory at home.

Assists on Woznicki’s goals came from Adam Borry, Dylan Piazza, Jon Loja and Andrew Lozier. Goalkeeper Nate Diloreto made five saves for Bristol Eastern.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Terryville 15, Housatonic 45; Terryville 15, Litchfield 47: The Kangaroos were led by Christopher Deforest (1st), C.J. Hart (2nd), Conor Garrity (3rd), Nick Fusco (4th) and Nick Zappone (5th).

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Terryville 50, Housatonic 15; Terryville 50, Litchfield 15: Katie Deforest placed first overall for the Kangaroos, followed by teammate Maddie Bell (5th).
