Schedules and playoff divisions for the 2019 football season were released on Monday.
Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern, both members of Class L, will be squaring off in their annual Battle for the Bell rivalry game at 10:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.
The Rams finished 5-5 last season, including a 24-19 win over Eastern in the regular-season finale. Their schedule this season begins with a battle at home against E.O. Smith Sept. 13. The Rams have home games against Windsor (Oct. 4), Wethersfield (Oct. 11), Newington (Nov. 8) and Conard (Nov. 15), and their away games will be against Maloney (Sept. 20), Masuk (Sept. 27) and Platt (Oct. 25).
Eastern, which went winless in 2018, opens the season Sept. 13 at Middletown and has away games against Hartford Public (Oct. 5), Maloney (Oct. 11), Platt (Nov. 8) and South Windsor (Nov. 16). Their home schedule includes games against Newington (Sept. 20), Pomperaug (Sept. 27), Westhersfield (Oct. 25) and Farmington (Nov. 1).
St. Paul, in Class S, opens the season with back-to-back road games against Seymour (Sept. 13) and Watertown (Sept. 20) and has away matchups against Woodland (Oct. 11), Wolcott (Nov. 1) and Kennedy (Nov. 9). The Falcons’ home schedule features Naugatuck (Sept. 27), Ansonia (Oct. 4), Crosby (Oct. 26), Torrington (Nov. 15) and Oxford (Nov. 27). The Falcons went 5-5 last season, including a three-game win streak to end the season.
All three teams’ bye week is Nov. 18-23.
Central and Eastern did not hold spring practices so each school’s first day of conditioning will be Aug. 19, first day in pads will be Aug. 24 and first allowable scrimmage is Aug. 28. St. Paul held sprint practices, and its first day of conditioning will be Aug. 23, with its first day of pads coming Aug. 29 and first allowable scrimmage Sept. 2.
Nov. 28 is the last day for games to count toward postseason berths.
