Roundup: Bristol Central boys basketball makes big rally, but can't catch up to Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD - Down 21 points at halftime, the Bristol Central boys basketball team managed to make a game of it on Thursday night, closing the gap to just five points with 20 seconds to go, but eventually dropped a 65-59 decision at Wethersfield.

Jaekwon Spencer paced the Rams (15-4) with 25 points, while Dathan Hickey and Noah Plantamuro each had nine, Isaiah Miller added eight and Alex Lape and Alex Bernier each netted four.

Wethersfield (16-3) was led by Mike Mozzicato’s 25 points.


Bristol 98, Lewis Mills 80: The local co-op had plenty of highlights in a victory at home.

Gabe Bartolome had his best time in the 200 IM and was also first in the 100 back stroke, while Keagan Mullan was first in the 50 freestyle (23.95)

Seby Rutkowski, Marissa Stone and Brian Collins went 1-2-3 in diving, while the Bristol co-op also went 1-2-3 in the 100 freestyle, with Jack Alling having a best time in the event.

“Taking the 1-2-3 finishes as well as 2-3-4 finishes were key to winning the meet today,” Bristol coach Nick Daddabbo said.
