Seven Southington softball players earned All-Conference nods for the Central Connecticut Conference to highlight the local talent selected this year.

The Blue Knights beat Fairfield Ludlow in a dramatic Class LL state championship game, 4-3, to earn the title for the second straight season.

Julia Panarella, Jazmin Lasane, Ali Rembish, Kate Griffin, Sam Sullivan, Ashlyn Desaulniers and Sam Rogers were the Southington recipients in the West Region. Lasane secured the crucial walk off single in the Blue Knights state title win. Southington’s final record stood at 23-1.

Berlin was next with five players selected, following a disappointing end to the season. The Redcoats lost in the second round of the Class L tournament to Fitch after receiving a bye as the third overall seed.

Sophia Fazzina, Kaylie Lanteri, Casey Uryga, Jenna Zup and Stefanie Poulin slotted in on the South Region team for Berlin, which concluded 19-2.

Both Bristol schools earned three spots as Gwen Torreso, Alex Sciarretto and Kaley Laird qualified for the Rams while Jasmine Perez, Janessa Gonzalez and Alison Tellier made it for the Lancers, also in the South Region.

Each school advanced to the second round of the Class L tournament, before getting shut out. Eastern was the only school to beat Southington all year, as the Lancers edged Southington 3-1 in their second game of the season.

The Rams went 15-3 on the year and Eastern went 14-7.

Newington placed Briana Gadarowski, Jaelyn Gonzalez and Elisa Taylor onto the North Region team. The Nor’easters fell to Fairfield Warde in the first round of the Class LL tournament, and finished the season with a 10-11 record.

Also in the North Region, Liana Silva and Xandra Silva represented New Britain. The Hurricanes did not qualify for the postseason after a 3-15 regular season slate.
