Area girls tennis state tournament brackets set

BRISTOL - Three area girls tennis teams qualified for the class tournaments.

St. Paul (12-3) leads the list as the No. 7 seed in the Class S tournament. The Falcons will play their first round matchup at Bristol Eastern against No. 10 Old Lyme (15-5).

If St. Paul wins it will take on the winner of No. 2 Stonington (15-1) and No. 15 Wolcott (10-5)/No. 18 Coginchaug (12-8) in the second round. The higher seed will host.

New Britain (10-7) earned the No. 21 seed in the Class L tournament and will travel to take on No. 12 Wilton at South Windsor on May 26 at 10 a.m.

If the Hurricanes win they will face No. 5 South Windsor (14-1) in the second round May 26 at 12:30 p.m.

Southington (14-4) earned the No. 11 seed in the Class L tournament and will travel to Greenwich to take on No. 22 Westhill (9-7) on May 26 at 10 a.m.

If the Blue Knights win, they will take on No. 6 Greenwich (14-2) in the second round May 26 at 12:30 p.m.
