SOUTHINGTON – A Plainville man was listed in critical condition following a motorcycle crash over the holiday weekend.

Police said 31-year-old John Reardon, of Bel Aire Drive in Plainville, suffered serious injuries during an accident on Saturday, around 2 a.m., in front of the Cumberland Farms at 909 Queen St.

According to police, Reardon was driving a 2001 Harley Davidson north on Queen Street when he collided with a motorist, driving south on Queen Street in a 2013 Toyota Venza, as the driver of the Venza tried to take a left hand turn into the Cumberland Farms.

The driver of the Venza has been identified as 19-year-old Derek Pomarico, of New York.

Police said Reardon was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut, in New Britain, where he was listed in critical condition.

Pomarico, police said, did not appear to be injured. He declined medical attention.

Police are still investigating the accident and have encouraged anyone with information to contact Officer Michaud at 860-621-0101 or cmichaud@southingtonpolice.org and reference case number 2200042779. Any witnesses can remain anonymous, police added.
