SOUTHINGTON – United Way of Southington has been selected as a Stop & Shop "Bloomin’ 4 Good" program beneficiary this September.

The "Bloomin’ 4 Good" program, which launched last February, provides an opportunity for shoppers to give back to local organizations that address hunger. Shoppers can purchase "Bloomin 4 Good" bouquets, which are marked with a red sticker, for $10.99 to support the beneficiary organization.

Store leadership at the Stop & Shop on Queen Street selected United Way of Southington as this month's beneficiary. United Way of Southington will receive a $1 donation for every Bloomin 4 Good bouquet purchased at that location this month.

Cheryl Lounsbury, president of United Way of Southington, encouraged the community to take advantage of this opportunity to help those in need.

“Flowers can make someone’s day, brighten a room or spread a smile and now they can fight hunger too,” said Lounsbury.

Lounsbury said that each Bloomin 4 Good bouquet sold will feed 10 people in need.

“Purchase a Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet at the Southington Stop & Shop in September to help fight hunger," she said.
