Pedestrian killed in car crash in Southington

SOUTHINGTON – A pedestrian was killed in a car crash late Monday. 

Police said the incident was reported just before 8 p.m., on Queen Street, in the area of Laning Street, where officers received the report of a car versus a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, where he died. 

No other injuries were reported.

Police said their preliminary investigation showed that the motorist involved, driving a black mid size sedan, was heading south through the Queen Street and Interstate 84 intersection as the pedestrian was crossing Queen street, from Laning Street.

According to police, the victim was struck by the front end, passenger side of the vehicle.
