Taylor Deegan, manager of Worldwide Wind & Spirits, said the store is glad to support the United Way of Southington and in turn support the Southington community.

“We appreciate our customers and believe it is our responsibility to give back,” he said. “Because all of the money raised from this raffle will be used to support those living in this wonderful town, this raffle is a great way to help those in need.”

“Our Board of Directors has been fantastic in stepping up to get the word out to the community,” he said. “We are still able to provide the same level of support to the nine agencies we serve after covid-19 hit because the community is so gracious in town.”

Eisenmann said United Way of Southington benefitted from a fundraising campaign last summer to assist agencies struggling during the pandemic. The organization also received grants from the Main Street Community Foundation as well as state loans and Paycheck Protection Plan loans.

“Also, even though our Annual Dinner was canceled last year, our sponsors came through anyway with donations,” he said.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they are planning to hold four more raffles as well as auctions between now and Aug. 30.

“This is just the beginning,” Eisenmann said. “There will be more auctions with opportunities to win all sorts of different prizes.”
