Bristol has nearly 50 more positive coronavirus cases among residents; Plainville has virus-associated death

New Britain had two residents die from coronavirus-associated illness over the past day, while Plainville had one, according to state health officials Wednesday. There were 87 virus-associated deaths reported statewide for a total that has now reached 6,536.

New Britain has had 156 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 117, Newington 89, Southington 62, Plainville 30, Berlin 26 and Plymouth five.

Bristol had 46 additional residents that tested positive for the virus Wednesday for a total of 3,678.

New Britain had 98 more residents that tested positive for the coronavirus over the past day for a total of 6,687.

Southington added 49 residents to its total of 2,303 positive coronavirus cases over the past day.

Newington had 16 additional residents that tested positive Wednesday for a total of 1,844.

Berlin added 22 residents that tested positive for the virus for a total of 1,032.

Plainville had 14 residents added to its coronavirus case total that has now reached 987.

Plymouth had seven residents that tested positive for the virus for a total of 574.

Statewide, there were 56,600 tests reported with 3,529 coming back as positive cases, a 6.23% positivity rate. There was a drop of six in residents hospitalized due to covid-19 for a total of 1,148.
