Bristol adds over 150 new coronavirus cases among residents over weekend; Southington has two deaths

New Britain had six residents die from coronavirus-associated illness, while Southington had two and Newington and Berlin each had one over the weekend, according to state health officials. There were 92 virus-associated deaths statewide during that time frame for a total that has reached 6,416.

New Britain has had 154 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 117, Newington 89, Southington 61, Plainville 29, Berlin 25 and Plymouth five.

New Britain had 217 new positive coronavirus cases among residents over the weekend for a total of 6,473.

Bristol had 155 new coronavirus cases among residents for a total of 3,565.

Southington added 96 coronavirus cases among residents for a total of 2,199.

Newington had 67 residents that tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend for a total of 1,803.

Berlin had 37 more residents tat tested positive for the virus for a total of 982.

Plainville had 51 additional residents test positive for the virus for a total of 957.

Plymouth had 28 residents that tested positive for the virus over the weekend for a total of 557.

Statewide, there were 116,244 tests reported with 7,364 coming back as positive cases, a 6.33% positivity rate. There were 33 additional state residents hospitalized due to covid-19 for a total of 1,142.
