SOUTHINGTON -- Police have identified the victim of a shooting over the weekend.
On Monday, police said 22-year-old Luis Medina, of Bristol, has been treated for his injury and released from the hospital.
Medina was shot in the calf on Saturday, around 10:37 p.m., in the driveway of a home at 139 Rethal St., according to police.
Police said the suspected shooter had gone to the home looking for someone who lives there. Following a conversation that occurred outside the home, multiple people were entering the residence when they reported hearing a gunshot.
Medina was found shortly thereafter in the driveway. He was driven by family members to Bristol Hospital, where he was dropped off.
When officers responded to the area, neighbors quickly identified where the shooting took place. The shooter had fled, police said.
Police said video surveillance in the area showed that about nine shots were fired from the suspect vehicle as the driver left the area.
The suspect has been described as a black male, standing 5 foot, 7 inches tall, with short hair, wearing dark clothes, according to police. The vehicle was described as a dark blue Chevy Impala.
The shooting, which has been described as an isolated incident, is still being investigated. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Det. Armack at 860-378-1649.
