Bristol reports pair of new coronavirus cases; Plymouth has additional three positives

On a day where just 514 additional positive cases of coronavirus were reported statewide, New Britain once again had a double-digit increase of its own, according to data released by state health officials Thursday. The city had 10 more positive cases reported over the past day and 32 over the past two days.

New Britain has had 825 positive cases among residents since testing began.

Southington also had a double-digit rise in positive cases among residents, with 10 additional over the past day. The town now has had 285 residents test positive for the virus.

Plymouth was next on the list of highest positive cases over the past day, with an additional three. The town now has had 64 residents who have tested positive for coronavirus.

Bristol had an increase of just two in the latest report, and has as total of 514 positive cases in all.

Plainville and Berlin each had one additional resident who tested positive for COVID-19. Berlin has had 136 total positive cases, while Plainville has had 133.

Newington did not have an additional positive test result over the past day, and stands at 327 total residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.

There was yet another drop in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 than the day before, for a total of 816 in the entire state. That represents a drop of 71 COVID-19 patients hospitalized.

There were another 53 deaths reported, for a total state death toll of 3,582. There have been 1,133 reported deaths in Hartford County, the second most among counties. Fairfield County has had 1,180 deaths, New Haven County has had 874 and Middlesex County has had 130.

There were an additional 5,729 coronavirus tests reported over the past day, with 191 coming back positive.

Bridgeport overtook Stamford as the hardest hit among cities and towns in the state with residents who have tested positive for the virus. Bridgeport now has 3,057 positive cases, while Stamford is up to 3,051.Hartford is still fourth with 2,036 positive cases. New Haven is third with 2,284 residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus.
