Southington police are still investigating a crash that claimed the life of a high school senior

SOUTHINGTON – A Saturday accident that claimed the life of a local teenager remains under investigation by the Southington Police Department.

The Bristol Press reported Sunday that Southington High School Senior Julia Bruno, 17, was driving in the intersection of Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike and Clark St. when her Nissan Sentra collided with a Honda Fit driven by Nancy Giudice, 76, of Plainville, around 10:18 p.m., according to Southington Police. Bruno’s car then hit a telephone pole. She was transported to the hospital by emergency personnel and succumbed to her injuries Sunday afternoon.

Giudice didn’t report any injuries at the scene.
