SOUTHINGTON - A local man has been accused of driving under the influence with a teenager in the car.

Police on Monday said that John Donnell, 66, was arrested on Aug. 11 after officers were dispatched to the Mobil gas station, at 11 Marion Ave., on the report of an intoxicated male pumping gas around 7:36 p.m.

Police said they found Donnell in the driver seat of a vehicle. An investigation determined he was intoxicated, police allege.

A 15-year-old was also inside the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Donnell faces charges of driving under the influence, risk of injury to a minor and driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle. He was freed without having to post bond.

Donnell was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Bristol Superior Court. His case was continued.
