SOUTHINGTON -- Heavy delays were reported Monday morning on Interstate-84 westbound after a van crashed and went over a guardrail, down an embankment.
The accident was reported around 7 a.m., in the area of Queen Street. One person was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries, state police said.
State police, Southington firefighters and an ambulance responded to the accident.
According to state police, the van was traveling in the left lane when it veered to the right, across multiple lanes, striking about 150 feet of wire rope guardrail. After going over the guardrail, the van fell down an embankment about 50 feet.
