Southington police investigating death at local hotel

SOUTHINGTON - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a 40-year-old man’s death at a local hotel.

Police said officers and medics were called on Sunday to the Homewood Suites, located at 1096 West St., on the report of a medical incident. The caller reported that there was for an unresponsive male at the hotel.

The man was administered first aid techniques and CPR by police and medics. According to police, there were no signs of foul play at the scene.

He was taken to Hospital of Central Connecticut’s Bradley Memorial Campus, where he was pronounced dead. 

He was then taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. 

Police said the death is still under investigation, and officers are waiting for the medical examiner’s report.
