Southington police mum on search of Darling Street apartment in firearm investigation

SOUTHINGTON - Police on Tuesday searched an apartment on Darling Street in connection with an investigation into potential firearms trafficking.

Police said the search warrant was served with the help of state police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the area SWAT team. Police said the investigation is a joint effort into “the illegal possession/sales attempt of a firearm.”

Police said the serving of the warrant was done “without incident.” Investigators added that the warrant has been ordered sealed, so no further details have been released.

Police also said the situation did not pose any danger to the public. Police said they will release further details, should they become available.
