Alleged DUI occurs with child in car

SOUTHINGTON - A local woman has been accused of driving under the influence with an teenager in the vehicle.

Jenessa Ives, 33, faces charges of operating under the influence and risk of injury to a minor.

Police said Tuesday that officers were called on July 3 about a vehicle driving erratically by a driver who appeared to be under the influence. Investigators then located Ives and found that she was intoxicated, according to police.

Police said Ives had a 15-year-old, who has not been identified, in the vehicle at the time of the allegations.

No injuries were reported.

Ives is free on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Bristol Superior Court on July 16.
