SOUTHINGTON - Police are looking for one of two women arrested last month during a sting operation conducted in response to numerous complaints of prostitution at local motels.
Brandy Milone, 28, of Waterbury, has been ordered to be re-arrested after she did not appear in Bristol Superior Court when her case was called Monday, according to court officials.
Officials said she showed up late Monday and was then told she had to file a motion the following day to vacate the re-arrest that had been ordered.
Milone was not in court Tuesday to file the motion, according to court officials. She faces one count of prostitution and could be looking at a failure to appear charge unless a judge vacates the charge. Police said they conducted their undercover prostitution operation on June 19.
An undercover officer, working the department’s Special Investigations Unit, posed as a customer seeking sexual services.
The officer, police said, contacted “several known prostitutes” who were looking for clients on social media and other websites.
The officer made arrangements to meet the suspects at a local motel, where “discussions of exchanging money for sexual conduct” were made, according to police.
Darlene Martino, 55, of Wolcott, was also charged in the sting operation.
