Woodbrook Jazz Quartet at Southington Library tonight

SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Public Library will present presents the Woodbrook Jazz Quartet this evening.

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the library at 255 Main St. It will feature Southington resident John Smayda on tenor sax, clarinet, and flute; Bernie Soroko of Madison on drums and vocals; Mike Roth from Milford on guitar and vocals; and Mike Nunno from Branford on bass.

The Woodbrook Jazz Quartet plays music ranging from classics in the American Songbook to up-tempo New Orleans style jazz.

Bernie Soroko and John Smayda have performed together in various Connecticut bands for over 40 years including Karen and the Pistons, Linda and the Loveletters, and Dr. Ya Ya’s Dirty Rice Review, which got rave reviews for an enthusiastic performance at February’s Mardi Gras Party at the library.
