SOUTHINGTON - An overturned tractor trailer caused minor delays on Interstate 84 Friday afternoon in Southington.

Police, firefighters and an ambulance were called the eastbound on-ramp near Exit 28 at about 3:10 p.m., when a tractor trailer flipped onto its side and spilled grain all over the highway. Motorists proceeded with caution but were allowed to continue on their way, driving over the spilled grain. A small hydraulic spill was also reported.

The driver of the truck appeared OK, as he was walking around and inspecting the vehicle not long after the accident.

The truck had to be uprighted and towed from the scene.
