SOUTHINGTON - A Bristol man was found with a knife and marijuana following a reported road rage incident.

Donald Donaghy, 52, is facing charges of illegal possession of marijuana and weapons in a motor vehicle.

According to police, officers on Sept. 29 received the report of a road rage incident that began on Route 84 eastbound and continued to West Street. Shortly thereafter, police located the vehicles involved on West Queen Street and began investigating.

During the investigation, police said, Donaghy told police he had a hunting knife under his seat. Police said the blade was about seven-and-a-half inches long.

Officers then found two baggies of suspected marijuana, one in Donaghy’s car and one on the ground outside the vehicle. Collectively, the baggies weighed 0.82 ounces.

Donaghy is free on a $5,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Bristol Superior Court.
