Southington Rotary installs 2017-18 officers, directors

SOUTHINGTON - The Rotary Club of Southington has installed its 2017-18 officers, headed by a new president, Craig Zettergren.

Other new officers include Vice President Fred Kuriger.

Dolores Fanelli remains executive secretary and Dan Daigle executive treasurer. The sergeant-at-arms is Audrey Brown.

Appreciation Awards went to longtime Rotarians Daigle, Fanelli and Brown for their work behind the scenes.

Joanne Alfieri received the prestigious President’s Award of Excellence for her ongoing commitment and hard work.

Kelly Leppard received the Rising Star Award as a new member making an immediate positive impact.

The Rotary Club of Southington is one of the largest service organizations in town and raises approximately $50,000 every year for local, national, and international causes.

Some recent projects include the donation of an industrial dishwasher to the new Bread for Life building and a fully equipped truck to Community Services for its food pickup. Southington Rotary also supports the March of Dimes, Leading Ladies, Literacy Volunteers, Italian Festival, Healthy Family Fun Fest and United Way,.
