SOUTHINGTON - Southington Community Cultural Arts will be holding its inaugural Short Film Contest, open to anyone in town ages 14 to 18.

Teens can create their own three to five minute short film for a chance to have it screened at the SoCCA Building at 93 Main St. during the Apple Harvest Festival. There are no rules on genre or story, but SoCCA asks that an apple be included somewhere in the footage.

Entries are due Sept. 1 along with a small submission fee of $20. Awards will be announced by the judges on the first Friday of this year’s Apple Harvest Festival. Pre-registration is encouraged either by emailing or by calling 860-276-1581.
