SOUTHINGTON - A local man is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly lunging at someone and making a punching motion.
Kevin Sobol, 45, has been charged with third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree threatening and two counts of disorderly conduct.
According to police, officers were called to Sobol’s home Saturday, at about 12:19 p.m., on the report of a domestic dispute.
Police allege Sobol was intoxicated and became verbally abusive toward a victim.
During the incident, he broke two phones inside the home and threw a dish across the room, according to police.
Later in the day, police said, Sobol allegedly locked the victim out of the home and a second victim went outside to help. Once everyone was back inside, according to police, Sobol allegedly lunged at one of the victims and made a motion like he was going to throw a punch.
No injuries were reported.
Sobol, of Union Street, was arrested shortly thereafter when he was found in a nearby wooded area. He is free on a written promise to appear, and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Aug. 9.
Because this is considered a domestic violence incident, police said, no further information will be released about either victim.
