PLYMOUTH – American Legion Post 20 will be holding a gun raffle Saturday and a Movie Trivia Night Sunday at the Post.
The gun raffle will be held starting at 2 p.m. at the Post at 245 Main St. The event will include live music and burgers and hot dogs. The raffle winners will be announced at 4 p.m.
“We’ve been doing the gun raffles on an annual basis since I became commander in Aug. 2017,” said Keith Golnik, post commander. “There will be six handguns and a .22 rifle available.”
Tickets for the gun raffle were made available at Wolf’s Indoor Range and South Side Meat Market in Bristol.
“I expect we should be able to sell out all 1,000 tickets,” he said. “I’ve already sold 860.”
Proceeds from the gun raffle will help American Legion Post 20 with their buildings and grounds fund, which is used to support renovations and maintenance at the post.
Trivia Nights are also held every other Sunday at American Legion Post 20, with a different theme each night. People can begin signing up for this Sunday’s trivia night, which will be movie themed, at 6:50 p.m. The trivia will begin at 7 p.m.
“There will be five rounds with ten questions each,” said Golnik. “People can sign-up in teams of two to four. The winners will receive a cash prize with the sum of the ticket entries.”
Tickets for the trivia night are $10 per person.
Golnik said that the trivia nights have been growing in popularity.
“This will be our third trivia night,” he said. “The first time we did it there were 11 people and there were 26 people the second time. People always have a great time. By purchasing drinks, people can support the post. It’s also a good opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to people and tell them what we do to support the community.”
