Under 30 residents currently hospitalized with coronavirus in state; just two new cases in area

There were no coronavirus-associated deaths reported in the state, and there are now under 30 patients being treated for covid-19 in state hospitals, according to state health officials. There have been 8,271 virus deaths overall.

New Britain has had 215 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 137, Newington 100, Southington 97, Plainville 38, Berlin 32 and Plymouth 11 since reporting began.

There were 4,962 coronavirus tests reported Wednesday with 38 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 0.77%. There was a decrease of six in residents hospitalized with coronavirus for an overall total of 29. There are nine covid patients currently in Hartford County hospitals, two less than Tuesday.

New Britain had no coronavirus cases reported over the past two days and has an overall total of 9,682.

Bristol had zero coronavirus cases since Tuesday and has an overall total of 6,024.

Southington has had one virus case since Tuesday and has 3,711 cases overall.

Newington had zero virus cases reported over the past two days and has an overall total of 2,720.

Berlin had zero new virus cases for six straight reports and has an overall total of 1,585.

Plainville had an increase of one in virus cases since Tuesday and has an overall total of 1,598.

Plymouth had a no increase in virus cases over the past day and has an overall total of 964.
