Just 29 new coronavirus cases reported statewide, three coming from area

There was just 29 new coronavirus cases reported Tuesday, with three coming from our area, according to data released by state health officials. There was just eight shy of 5,000 tests reported statewide.

There were three coronavirus-associated deaths reported across the state for a total of 4,463. There was an additional two patients hospitalized with coronavirus for a total of 59. There are 15 such patients in Hartford County.

New Britain had an additional two residents confirmed as testing positive for coronavirus Tuesday, a day after seeing 20 added to that total since the start of the weekend. The city has now had 1,237 confirmed and 53 probable coronavirus cases since reporting began.

Bristol reached 650 confirmed coronavirus cases after having an additional resident test positive for the virus Tuesday. The city has now had 650 confirmed and 17 probable cases in all.

A day after gaining a confirmed report of a coronavirus case, Plymouth was back down one in that category. The town has had 74 confirmed and five probable cases overall.

Newington, Southington, Berlin and Plainville all had no changes Tuesday.

Newington remains at 405 confirmed and 20 probable cases; Southington has had 357 confirmed and 14 probable cases; Berlin has had 182 confirmed and nine probable cases; and Plainville stays at 177 confirmed and two probable cases.
