PLYMOUTH - The Terryville Volunteer Fire Department wants town residents to watch out for scam fundraisers being conducted in its name.

Fire Chief Mark Sekorski issued a statement that the department is not running any fundraisers at this time and there have been several reports of phony phone solicitations and mailings sent out throughout the community.

The fire department does not solicit donations via telephone calls, the statement reads.

If anyone has doubts about the validity of a communication from someone claiming to be a member of the fire department, they should call department headquarters at 860-583-6509.
