PLYMOUTH - Plymouth police arrested a Waterbury man on Monday who has been accused of having inappropriate contact over the Internet with a local girl.

Michael Lamountain, 31, faces four counts each of risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct. He was held in custody after his arrest and arraigned in Bristol Superior Court.

Officials at the hearing said the allegations involved contact over social media with an underage Plymouth girl. According to court documents, the incident dates back to November.

Court officials had considered issuing an order that Lamountain not contact the victim while the case is pending. However, that would have required them to provide him with her identity, which he does not know. A judge briefly mulled it over and did not impose the order.

The arrest warrant in the investigation has been ordered sealed by a judge for at least two weeks, so no additional information about the allegations was available Monday.

Lamountain is being held on $20,000 bond - which can only be posted at the courthouse. His next hearing is scheduled for May 14.

Lamountain did not enter a plea on Monday.
