PLYMOUTH - “My love for the Western lifestyle began when I visited the Nationals Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas,” says Kevin Wojtczak, proprietor of Chute Gates Steakhouse and Saloon.

“The ‘Chute Gate’ is where the bulls, saddle broncs and bareback riders come out into the main arena for the test between man and beast. That is how the idea began,” he says on the website for his western and rodeo themed restaurant on Route 6.

Chute Gates is celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend with live music, featuring entertainers and songwriters John McDermott, J.W. Williams, Vince Leggett, Bo Denver, all from Nashville, and The Mammoth Jack Band from Texas.

The music will go on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., with a cover charge of $5. It continues Sunday, Nov. 5, from noon to 9 p.m., again for a cover charge or $5.

Chute Gates is “the home of great meals (especially our beef) and great service! All in our fun and friendly family western atmosphere! Whether you’re coming in to listen to our live entertainment or sitting down to enjoy our specially prepared meals, you’re sure to enjoy our warm and comfortable surroundings,” Wojtczak says on his website.

The restaurant offers an extensive lunch and dinner menu with daily specials, he says. “Each meal is individually prepared to meet our high standards to bring you the best ‘home cooking’ you can get. We use nothing but the freshest of ingredients including Angus grain feed Midwestern beef! Ya’ll come on in, take a look around our site, check out our menu and our event schedule. We hope to see you soon!”
