Football Roundup: Laprise leads Bristol Eastern offense that puts up 39 points, but Lancers fall to Platt

MERIDEN - The Bristol Eastern football team suffered a setback at Falcon Field in Meriden on Friday night, losing to Platt 52-39.

Jaden Laprise had more than 200 yards receiving, including two touchdowns for the Lancers (2-4), while Justin Marshall passed for more than 300 yards, running for one touchdown and passing for three more.

Steven Hopkins also scored a touchdown rushing.

The Lancers suffered from some defensive mistakes, while special teams mistakes and some big plays by Platt also hurt Bristol Eastern.

Platt (4-2) was led by an excellent game from running back E.J. Dudley.

Berlin 37, Avon 0: The Berlin High football team had no trouble with visiting Avon on Friday night, as Kevin Dunn threw three touchdown passes in a 37-0 victory.

A Dunn pass to Giancarlo Tufano got the Redcoats (6-0) on the board in the first quarter, while another pass to Alex Halkias and a TD run by Zach Hrubiec made it 21-0 by halftime.

Berlin scored on a Tufano field goal, another touchdown pass from Dunn and a James Mazzerella TD run in the second half.

Avon fell to 2-4 for the season.

Berlin will host Tolland (4-2) next weekend.

Plainville 38, RHAM 33: Plainville improved to 2-4 with the victory over RHAM, which is 3-3.
