MANCHESTER - The Berlin wrestling season didn’t have the start it was hoping for as it lost to Manchester by a score of 57-18. The Redcoats had some individuals perform well but in the end they couldn’t hang with Manchester.

Senior captain Nick Abrorio was one of just three Berlin wrestlers to win his match against Manchester and he did so via forfeit. Ty’reck Williams and Moses Marino were the other two Redcoats to win their matches and both did so via pin at just over the three minute mark.

Berlin will next hit the mats on Saturday morning when it hosts a tournament that will feature Daniel Hand, Bristol Eastern and two out-of-state teams.

Plainville 52, East Catholic 27: The Plainville wrestling team started off its season with a convincing win over East Catholic by a score of 52-27.
